The only purpose the scouts can use these toys for are target practice, and eye protection must always be worn, according to page 99 of the 2015 edition of the BSA Handbook. The reason behind the prohibition of toys ,in scouting, was that it violated the kindness policy of scouting. They also go on to say, "Pointing a gun at someone isn't very kind", and that using toy guns creates "simulation violence". Do I even need to explain why this is stupid?
