About two weeks ago, Japan made the decision to re-initiate 14 their nuclear reactors, when they did all of them experienced emergency shutdowns or technical failures. Just recently another 25 reactors asked for restart permits which has concerned many officials about the safety and success of these plants, especially now that they have a new factor to account for, a volcano. Sendai is one of those such reactors close only 50 kilometers (31 miles) away from the Japanese volcano Sakurajima, Japanese weather agency has stated that its extremely possible that a large scale eruption is near. They have issued a warning to all residents of Kagoshima a city of at least 600,000 people, telling them to be prepared in case of a emergency evacuation of the island.
