If you listen to my podcast (if you haven't, there is a link in the navigation menu, labeled podcast). But, if you do listen to the show, you know that in the 3rd episode I reported on Hayden Griffith. To refresh, in the town of Ramona, Oklahoma. Hayden Griffith, a tribal member of the Delaware Cherokee tribe, and graduate from the Caney Valley high school, submitted a request to the school system, to see if it was okay to wear an eagle feather in her graduation cap, given to her by the Delaware Cherokee tribe, the school system heard her request, and denied it. Their main reasoning behind this action was, "IF THEY ALLOW HER TO WEAR HER EAGLE FEATHER, THEN ANYONE CAN DECORATE THEIR CAP" - Rick Peters, Superintendent. And just recently, the Griffith family went to court with the school system. The verdict was announced today, that Hayden Griffith lost her court case with the school system, to wear a feather on her cap. But there is an opportunity for the family to appeal to the federal court. But, do not take this verdict as a sign of defeat. Because you are still breathing, and that means that you are still a part of the resistance. Remember fight not just for your freedom, but for everybody's freedom. For a more detailed version of this article, listen to episode 3 of Question The Answer on soundcloud, or look in the navigation menu, under podcast. And to whoever is listening, you are the revolution!
